If your Financial Year ended on 30 June 2020, your 2020 Annual Information Statement (AIS) is due on 31 January 2021. If your church has already submitted the AIS, congratulations and well done, you can stop reading. If not, you need to get on with this now.
(Note: if your Financial Year ended on 31 December 2020, you have until 30 June to complete the AIS.)
The Annual Information Statement is an online form that asks a range of questions about a charity’s operations and finances over a 12-month period. Charities registered with the ACNC must submit an AIS every reporting period. Charities who do not submit the AIS each year may have their charity status revoked, which also removes any ATO tax exemptions.
To complete the 2020 AIS, log on to the ACNC Charity Portal and follow the bouncing ball.
There have been a few changes and updates to this years AIS. To help, the ACNC has created a 2020 AIS Hub which contains information your registered charity needs to complete its Annual Information Statement.
On this page, the ACNC has links to some support materials, guides and checklists to help charities complete their AIS. It also includes an AIS Program Previewer. This previewer tool gives you a chance to familiarise yourself with the section on programs before you complete your charity’s 2020 AIS.
